The Tourism Department of Sikkim government is all set to hold the 6-day Winter Carnival 2014 from December 14 here.
This will be the second time the Carnival, featuring adventure sports, exhibition of local culture, cuisine and music, will be held in the state, Tourism Secretary C Zangpo said today.
Some singers and musicians will come from Kathmandu in Nepal.
Zangpo said that the main purpose of the carnival was to boost tourist footfall in Sikkim during winter, a time that traditionally sees a decline in the number of visitors.
