Sikkim to get its Youth Policy soon: R B Subba

The minister was addressing the opening ceremony of the 45th Working Committee Meeting of Tibetan Youth Congress(TYC)

Sikkim government would soon be framing its Youth Policy keeping in mind the welfare of the youths.

State Youth Affairs and Sports minister R B Subba told a programme that the Sikkim Youth Development Board has recently been formed which will soon be followed by the framing of the Sikkim Youth Policy.

The minister was addressing the opening ceremony of the 45th Working Committee Meeting of Tibetan Youth Congress(TYC) here yesterday.

He urged the youths to work towards becoming socially responsible people.

More than 100 participants attended the first day of the TYC event which began here yesterday. It will end on August 16 next.
 

Subba said that the people of Sikkim share a good relationship with Tibetans in the state and would continue to do so.

Earlier, TYC president Tenzing Jigme said since its formation in 1970, the TYC has been working for the welfare of the Tibetan community.

Jigme said that the six-day meeting would discuss and deliberate on different agendas and issues and would also come up with new programmes and strategies.
