Silver down 0.3%

Metal for delivery in May declined by 0.29%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Silver prices fell by 0.30% to Rs 46,762 per kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed their positions despite a firming trend in the overseas markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in July traded lower by Rs 143, or 0.30%, to Rs 46,762 per kg in a business turnover of 32 lots.

Similarly, the white metal for delivery in May declined by Rs 134, or 0.29%, to Rs 45,839 per kg in a business volume of 1,704 lots.

In the international market, silver traded 0.5% higher at $20.92 an ounce in Singapore.

Market analysts attributed the fall in silver prices at futures trade to offloading of positions by speculators but a firming trend in precious metals overseas limited the fall.
