Silver prices rose by Rs 104 to reach Rs 43,125 per kg in futures trading today as speculators widened positions amid firm trend in global markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in May was trading higher by Rs 104, or 0.24 per cent, at Rs 43,125 per kg, in a business turnover of three lots.

Likewise, the white metal for delivery in March was trading higher by Rs 85, or 0.20 per cent, to Rs 42,565 per kg in 360 lots.

Market analysts said speculative positions created by participants in line with a firm trend in global markets, mainly influenced silver futures.

Meanwhile, silver was up 0.73 per cent at USD 17.93 an ounce in New York yesterday.
