Silver futures climb Rs 127 on global cues

Silver prices were trading higher by Rs 127 to Rs 38,689 per kg in futures trade today as speculators built up positions amid a higher global trend.

In futures trading at the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in September was trading higher by Rs 127, or 0.33 per cent, to Rs 38,689 per kg, in a business turnover of 8 lots.

Also, the white metal for delivery in July was up by Rs 120, or 0.32 per cent, to Rs 38,172 per kg in 993 lots.

Analysts said, speculators created fresh positions in tune with higher global trend which pushed silver prices higher at futures trade.
 

Meanwhile, silver rose 0.28 per cent to USD 16.37 an ounce in Singapore.
