Silver prices spurted by Rs 185 to reach Rs 41,860 per kg in futures trading today as speculators indulged in creating positions, taking positive cues from global market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in far-month September was trading higher by Rs 185, or 0.44 per cent, at Rs 41,860 per kg, in a business turnover of 10 lots.

Likewise, the white metal for delivery in July rose by Rs 175, or 0.43 per cent, to Rs 41,162 per kg in 679 lots.

Market analysts said speculative positions built-up by participants in line with a firm trend in global markets, mainly influenced silver futures.
