Silver prices rose by Rs 272 to reach Rs 41,563 per kg in futures trading today as speculators widened positions amid firm trend in global markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in July was trading higher by Rs 198, or 0.66 per cent, at Rs 41,563 per kg in a business turnover of 339 lots.

Likewise, the white metal for delivery in far-month September rallied by Rs 243, or 0.58 per cent, to Rs 42,102 per kg in 11 lots.

Market analysts said speculative positions created by participants in line with a firm trend in global markets, mainly influenced silver futures here.
