Silver falls by 0.1% as speculators trim positions

Speculators reduced positions amid weakness in global markets

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Silver prices fell by Rs 55 to Rs 36,875 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced positions amid weakness in global markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in far-month July was trading Rs 55 or 0.15% lower at Rs 36,875 per kg with a turnover of 28 lots.

Similarly, silver for delivery in May dropped by Rs 47 or 0.12% to Rs 36,440 per kg in a business turnover of 420 lots.

Marketmen said offloading of positions by speculators amid a weak trend in global markets mainly put pressure on silver futures here.

Meanwhile, silver was 0.2% lower at $16.25 an ounce in Singapore, heading for a second weekly decline.
