Silver prices fell by 0.23 per cent to Rs 33,743 per kg in futures trade today amid weak trend overseas and muted demand at the domestic spot market.

At Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), silver for delivery in far-month May 2016 fell by Rs 79, or 0.23 per cent, to Rs 33,743 per kg in business turnover of 56 lots.

Similarly, the white metal for delivery in March contracts shed Rs 68, or 0.20 per cent, to Rs 33,322 per kg in 4,780 lots.

Market analysts said a weak trend in precious metals in global markets amid tepid demand in the domestic spot market mainly kept pressure on silver prices at futures trade.

Meanwhile, silver fell 0.18 per cent to USD 13.85 an ounce in London.
