Speculators offload positions as metal sheds 0.2% in Singapore

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Silver prices fell 0.27 per cent to Rs 37,185 per kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed positions, taking negative cues from overseas markets.

In futures trading at Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in September month fell by Rs 100, or 0.27 per cent to Rs 37,185 per kg in business turnover of 20 lots.

The July contract eased by Rs 73, or 0.20 per cent to Rs 36,667 per kg in 1,601 lots.

Market analysts said offloading of positions by speculators in tandem with a weak global trend mainly led to decline in silver prices.

Globally, silver declined 0.2 per cent to $15.94 an ounce in Singapore.
