Silver prices fell 0.29% to Rs 37,993 per kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed positions amid a weak trend in global markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March traded lower by Rs 112, or 0.29%, to Rs 37,993 per kg in a business turnover of 188 lots.

Similarly, the white metal for delivery in May declined by Rs 107, or 0.28%, to Rs 38,599 per kg in a business volume of six lots.

In the international market, silver traded 0.2% lower at $17.20 an ounce in Singapore.

Market analysts said reports of a weak trend in the metal in overseas markets led to the fall in silver prices at futures trade here.
