Silver down 0.4% on lower global trend

Metal for delivery in July declined by 0.35%

Tracking a weak global trend, silver prices moved down by 0.45% to Rs 42,275 per kg in futures trade today as speculators partially offloaded positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in May moved down by Rs 193, or 0.45%, to Rs 42,275 per kg in a business turnover of 349 lots.

Similarly, the white metal for delivery in July declined by Rs 152, or 0.35%, to Rs 43,060 per kg in 137 lots.

Market analysts said speculators trimmed positions in tandem with a weak global trend on speculation that the Federal Reserve will further reduce US monetary stimulus as it starts a two-day policy meeting today, weighed on silver futures here.
 
Meanwhile, silver fell by 0.46% to USD 19.48 an ounce in Singapore today.
