Tracking a weak global trend, silver prices moved down by 1.23 per cent to Rs 36,111 per kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed positions.
The exchange opened for the evening session as it remained closed in the morning for Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in May month fell by Rs 449 or 1.23 per cent to Rs 36,111 per kg in business turnover of 1,113 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in July contracts declined by Rs 418 or 1.13 per cent to Rs 36,562 per kg in 69 lots.
Analysts attributed the fall in silver futures to a weak global trend.
Meanwhile, silver declined 1.8 per cent to USD 16 an ounce, the lowest since March 19 in London.
