Tracking a weak global trend, silver prices moved down by Rs 168 to Rs 36,300 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced their positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in far-month July contracts moved down by Rs 168, or 0.46 per cent, to Rs 36,300 per kg in a business turnover of three lots.
Also, the white metal for delivery in May contracts declined by Rs 134, or 0.37 per cent, to Rs 35,780 per kg in 616 lots.

Analysts said speculators trimmed positions in tune with a weak global trend as the dollar extended gains on speculation the US Federal Reserve may raise interest rates this year as the economy recovers, reducing appeal of the precious metals, mainly weighing on the silver prices at futures trade here.
Meanwhile, silver fell by 0.13 per cent to USD 15.71 an ounce in Singapore.
