Silver prices eased further by 0.13 per cent to Rs 39,283 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced their holdings, amid a weak trend overseas.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in September was trading lower by Rs 52, or 0.13 per cent, at Rs 39,283 per kg in business turnover of 735 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by participants in tandem with a weak trend overseas kept pressure on silver prices in futures trade.

Meanwhile, silver fell by 0.13 per cent to USD 15.90 an ounce in Singapore as the dollar extended gains from the previous session when strong US inflation data and trade war concerns boosted demand for the greenback.
