Silver prices fell by 0.21% to Rs 37,238 per kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in offloading even as metal strengthened overseas.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March next year contracts lost Rs 77, or 0.21%, to Rs 37,238 per kg with a turnover of 369 lots.

Also, silver for delivery in far-month May contracts was trading Rs 65, or 0.17% down at Rs 37,875 per kg in a business volume of eight lots.

Market participants said the fall in silver futures was mostly due to off-loading of positions by participants even as the white metal strengthened in global markets.

Meanwhile, in Singapore, silver rose 0.50% to $16.14 an ounce.
