Silver prices moved down by 0.47 per cent to Rs 34,550 per kg in futures trading today as speculators offloaded positions amid a weak trend overseas.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in December fell by Rs 163, or 0.47 per cent, to Rs 34,550 per kg in a business turnover of 4,092 lots.

On similar lines, the white metal for March contracts eased by Rs 141, or 0.40 per cent, to Rs 35,295 per kg in 34 lots.

Market analysts said a weak trend in global markets, before a key Federal Reserve decision on monetary policy, led to decline in silver prices at futures trade.

Meanwhile, silver fell by 0.59 per cent to USD 14.32 an ounce in London.
