Silver prices were down by Rs 419 to Rs 37,260 per kg in futures trade Thursday after speculators reduced their exposure amid a weak trend overseas.
Silver for delivery in March fell by Rs 419, or 1.11 per cent, to trade at Rs 37,260 per kg in a business turnover of 20,358 lots at the Multi Commodity Exchange.
On similar lines, the white metal for delivery in May 2019 shed Rs 404, or 1.06 per cent, at Rs 37,831 per kg with a business turnover of 993 lots.
In the international market, silver fell 0.71 per cent to USD 14.60 an ounce in Singapore Thursday.
Marketmen said trimming of positions by speculators to book profits at prevailing levels and a weak trend overseas, mainly led to a fall in silver prices at futures trade here.
