Silver prices traded higher by 0.20 per cent to Rs 37,970 per kg in futures market today as speculators created fresh positions amid positive global cues.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in
September rose by Rs 74, or 0.20 per cent to Rs 37,970 per kg in business turnover of 520 lots.
Similarly, the white metal for delivery in December went up by Rs 63, or 0.16 per cent to Rs 38,799 per kg in 9 lots.
Market analysts said fresh positions created by traders in tandem with a firm global trend, attributed the rise in the silver prices at futures trade.
Meanwhile, silver rose by 0.36 per cent to USD 15.31 an ounce in Singapore.
