Tracking a firm trend overseas, silver prices rose by 0.39 per cent to Rs 39,637 per kg in futures trade today as traders built up fresh positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in December rose by Rs 153, or 0.39 per cent to Rs 39,637 per kg in business turnover of 988 lots.
Market analysts said fresh positions were created by participants in line with a firm trend in global markets, led to rise in silver prices at futures trade.
Globally, silver rose 0.47 per cent to USD 17.00 an ounce in Singapore.
