Silver up 0.8% on global cues

Metal for delivery in May moved up by 0.79%

Silver prices gained 0.80% to Rs 44,722 per kg in futures trading today after participants enlarged positions amid a firming trend overseas.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March gained Rs 353, or 0.80% to Rs 44,722 per kg in business turnover of 2324 lots.

Likewise, the white metal for delivery in May moved up by Rs 358, or 0.79% to Rs 45,659 per kg in 57 lots.

Market analysts said the rise in silver prices at futures trade was mostly in line with a firming trend in the global markets.

Globally, silver gained 0.45% to trade at 20.09 dollar an ounce in Singapore.
