Press Trust of India New Delhi
Silver prices rose by Rs 171 to Rs 35,496 per kg in futures trading today as speculators created fresh positions on the back of recovery in precious metals overseas.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in May traded higher by Rs 171, or 0.48%, at Rs 35,496 per kg in a business turnover of 688 lots.

Likewise, the white metal for delivery in July was trading higher by Rs 129, or 0.36%, at Rs 35,960 per kg in three lots.

Market analysts said fresh positions created by speculators largely in tandem with a firming trend in global markets, influenced silver prices at futures trade.

Meanwhile, silver gained 0.3% to $15.64 an ounce in Singapore.
