Silver futures gain Rs 329 on global cues

Silver prices were up by Rs 329 to Rs 37,548 per kg in futures trade today after participants built up positions amidst a firm global trend.

The exchange opened for evening session as it remained closed for morning session on account of "Budha Purnima".

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in July moved up by Rs 329, or 0.88 per cent, to Rs 37,548 per kg in a business turnover of 616 lots.

Also, the white metal for delivery in May was trading higher by Rs 304, or 0.83 per cent, to Rs 36,844 per kg in 41 lots.
 

Analysts said a better trend in silver in Asian markets as investors gauged the outlook for higher US interest rates before the monthly jobs data later this week, helped white metal prices to rise at futures trade here.

Meanwhile, silver gained 1.5 per cent to USD 16.39 an ounce in Singapore.
