Buoyed by a firming trend overseas, Silver prices rose by Rs 385 to Rs 39,521 per kg in futures trade today, largely as speculators widened their positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March was trading notably higher by Rs 385, or 0.98 per cent, at Rs 39,521 per kg in a business turnover of 497 lots.
Also, the white metal for delivery in far-month May spurted by Rs 270, or 0.68 per cent, to Rs 40,149 per kg in 13 lots.

In the international market, silver gained 1.13 per cent to USD 16.06 an ounce in Singapore today.
Raising of bets by participants amid a firming trend overseas, mainly influenced silver futures here, market analysts said.
