Buoyed by a firming trend overseas, silver prices were higher by Rs 92 to Rs 42,050 per kg in futures trade today largely as speculators widened their positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in December was trading higher by Rs 92, or 0.22 per cent, to Rs 42,050 per kg, in a business turnover of 474 lots.
In the international market, silver gained 0.20 per cent to USD 17.54 an ounce in Singapore today.
Market analysts said expanding of positions by participants, tracking a firming trend overseas, mainly influenced silver futures.
