Silver futures on Wednesday plunged Rs 217 to Rs 42,837 per kg as participants cut down their bets on low spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for July delivery tumbled by Rs 217, or 0.5 per cent, to Rs 42,837 per kg in a business turnover of 6,245 lots.
In the international market, silver prices traded 0.34 per cent lower at USD 15.66 an ounce in New York.
