Snapping its over one-week falling streak, silver recovered by Rs 210 to Rs 34,165 per kg in futures trading today as speculators indulged in creating fresh positions amid a rebound in the precious metals overseas.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in September traded higher by Rs 210, or 0.62 per cent, at Rs 33,955 per kg in a business turnover of 939 lots.

Likewise, the white metal for delivery in December was trading higher by Rs 206, or 0.59 per cent, to Rs 34,919 per kg in 21 lots.

Market analysts said fresh positions built up by speculators after the white metal recovered in global market as lower levels spurred buying, supported the upside in silver prices.

Meanwhile, silver was up 0.4 per cent at USD 14.86 an ounce in Singapore.
