Silver futures remain higher on overseas trend

Tracking a firm global trend, silver prices rose further by 1.09 per cent to Rs 35,431 per kg in futures trading today as speculators enlarged positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in May month rose Rs 382, or 1.09 per cent to Rs 35,431 per kg in business turnover of 9,360 lots.

In a similar fashion, the metal for delivery in July contracts gained Rs 313, or 0.88 per cent to Rs 35,891 per kg in 74 lots.

Analysts said speculators enlarged positions on the back of firm global trend, mainly influenced silver prices at futures trade.
 

Meanwhile, silver climbed 0.9 per cent to USD 15.64 an ounce in London.
