Silver futures slide by 0.3% on weak global trend

Participants lightened their positions, tracking a weak global trend

Silver futures today fell 0.35% to Rs 34,660 per kg as participants lightened their positions, tracking a weak global trend.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in December was trading lower by Rs 123, or 0.35%, to Rs 34,660 per kg in a business turnover of 29 lots.

On similar lines, the white metal for delivery in September also shed Rs 100, or 0.29%, to Rs 33,925 per kg with a turnover of 1,615 lots.

A sluggish global trend overseas where precious metals eased after the US Fed reinforced expectations that it will raise interest rates as early as September, weighed on silver futures here, analysts said.
