Silver prices climbed by 2.66 per cent to Rs 39,342 per kg in evening trade in futures market today on firm global trends.
The exchange remained closed for the morning session on account of 'Mahavir Jayanti'.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in May month spurted by Rs 1,020, or 2.66 per cent, to Rs 39,342 per kg in business turnover of 2,412 lots.

On similar lines, the white metal for delivery in July contracts shot up by Rs 1021, or 2.62 per cent, to Rs 39,945 per kg in 273 lots.
Analysts attributed the uptick in silver prices to a firm global trend.
Meanwhile, silver rose 3.33 per cent to USD 16.74 an ounce in London.
