Silver prices again zoomed past the crucial Rs 49,000 per kg mark by surging Rs 926 to Rs 49,358 per kg in futures trade in the evening session today after speculators raised their bets amid a firming trend overseas.
The exchange opened for the evening session as it remained closed in the morning for 'Id-Ul-Fitr'.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in far-month December spurted by Rs 926, or 1.91 per cent to Rs 49,358 per kg in a business turnover of 10 lots.

Likewise, the white metal for delivery in September was trading notably higher by Rs 930, or 1.96 per cent to Rs 48,304 per kg in 522 lots.
Analysts said a firm trend in global markets as fears of Brexit impact surfaced mainly attributed rise in the silver prices at futures trade here.
Meanwhile, silver advanced 2.1 per cent to USD 20.34 an ounce in London.
