Silver prices rose by 0.24 per cent in futures trade Monday as traders built up fresh positions even as the metal weakened overseas.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for December was trading higher by Rs 89, or 0.24 per cent, to Rs 37,080 per kg in a business turnover of 342 lots.

In a similar manner, the white metal for November gained Rs 81, or 0.22 per cent, to Rs 37,014 per kg in 506 lots.
