Silver up by 0.5% on overseas cues

Taking positive cues from overseas markets, silver prices were up by 0.48% to Rs 33,977 per kg in futures trade today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in December moved up by Rs 163, or 0.48%, to Rs 33,977 per kg in a business turnover of 2,119 lots.

Similarly, the white metal for delivery in far-month March next year traded higher by Rs 158, or 0.46%, to Rs 34,571 per kg in 354 lots.

Traders attributed the rise in silver futures to a firm global trend.

Globally, silver rose 0.25% to $14.19 an ounce in Singapore.
