Silver prices were higher by
0.52 per cent to Rs 37,071 per kg in futures trade Monday after speculators built up fresh positions amid positive global cues.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in December was up by Rs 191, or 0.52 per cent, to Rs 37,071 per kg in a business turnover of 582 lots.
Likewise, the white metal for November gained Rs 155, or 0.42 per cent at Rs 37,070 per kg in 1,131 lots.
Marketmen said fresh positions built up by traders in tandem with a firming trend in global market influenced the silver prices at futures trade.
Meanwhile, silver rose by 0.11 per cent to USD 14.28 an ounce in Singapore.
