Silver futures up by Rs 105 on global cues

Silver prices were up by Rs 105 to Rs 36,620 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced their positions amidst a firm global trend.

The exchange opened for evening session as it remained closed for morning session on account of "Maharashtra Day".

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in May moved up by Rs 105, or 0.29 per cent, to Rs 36,620 per kg in a business turnover of 289 lots.

Also, the white metal for delivery in July was trading higher by Rs 94, or 0.25 per cent, to Rs 37,239 per kg in 770 lots.
 

Analysts said a better trend in silver at global markets helped white metal prices to rise at futures trade here.

Meanwhile, silver gained 0.2 per cent to USD 16.18 an ounce in London.
