Silver futures up Rs 145 aided by global cues

Taking positive cues from the global market, silver prices rose by Rs 145 to Rs 49,332 per kg in futures trade today as traders created speculative positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in far-month December contract was trading higher by Rs 145, or 0.29 per cent, to Rs 49,332 per kg in a business turnover of 7 lots.

Also, the white metal for delivery in September rose by Rs 135, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 48,206 per kg in 618 lots.

In the international market, silver gained 0.17 per cent to USD 20.60 an ounce in Singapore.
 

Market analysts said a firming trend in the precious metals in global market, mainly attributed to the rise in silver prices at futures trade here.
