Silver futures up Rs 145 on global cues

Silver prices moved up by Rs 145 to Rs 38,365 per kg in futures trade today as speculators built up positions amid a higher global trend.

In futures trading at the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in July gained Rs 145, or 0.38 per cent, to Rs 38,365 per kg, in a business turnover of 453 lots.

The white metal for delivery in far-month September was up by Rs 134, or 0.35 per cent, to Rs 38,850 per kg in 39 lots.

Analysts said speculators created fresh positions in tune with higher global trend, pushing silver prices higher in futures trade.
 

Meanwhile, silver traded 0.48 per cent higher at USD 16.60 an ounce in Singapore.
