Silver trades higher by 0.40 pc on global cues

Silver prices traded higher by 0.40 per cent to Rs 45,270 per kg in futures trading today as speculators creating fresh positions supported by a firm global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in May traded higher by Rs 182, or 0.40 per cent to Rs 45,270 per kg in business turnover of 147 lots.

Likewise, the white metal for delivery in March gained Rs 154, or 0.35 per cent to Rs 44,278 per kg in 8,745 lots.

Market analysts said the rise in silver prices at futures trade to a firming trend overseas.

Meanwhile, gained 0.9 per cent to USD 19.76 an ounce.
