Taking weak cues from overseas markets, silver prices plunged by Rs 452 to Rs 37,065 per kg in futures trade today, as participants trimmed exposure.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March lost Rs 452, or 1.20 per cent, to Rs 37,065 per kg in a business turnover of 662 lots.

Similarly, the white metal for delivery in far-month May was trading lower by Rs 342, or 0.90 per cent, to Rs 37,590 per kg in a business volume of 715 lots.

In the international market, silver slumped 0.91 per cent to USD 15.28 an ounce in Singapore today.

Marketmen said the fall in silver prices at futures trade was largely attributed to a weak trend in precious metals in global markets.
