Border Security Force (BSF) troops have seized silver balls worth over Rs 9.94 lakh as they were being smuggled across India-Bangladesh border in West Bengal.
The incident occured late night yesterday when a BSF patrol intercepted a consignment at the Rangiapota border out- post in Krishnanagar sector of the border.
Officials here said silver balls weighing 22 kg were found in the bags that were seized and the estimated market value of the seized material is Rs 9,94,500.
The force handed over the seized items to Customs authorities and no one was apprehended during the operation, they said.
