Actress Alicia Silverstone says she would rather stay naked than wear wool to promote PETA's latest campaign to make winter wool-free.

The 40-year-old actress recently shot in the nude for celebrity photographer Brian Bowen Smith for a poster with the tagline, "I'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Wool. Wear Vegan," reported FemaleFirst.

Informing the viewers about the process of wool-making, Silverstone said in a video to PETA, "(I)t's just so fast, the shearing process. (The sheep are) cut, they're harmed. They get very seriously wounded, and there's no care for them when they're wounded. It's just, 'Move on to the next'.

"Why not make that leap? Say, 'I'm never going to buy wool again'."

This advertisement is the latest addition to PETA's "I'd Rather Go Naked" series, which underscores the treatment meted to the animals to extract clothing.
