The picturesque Similipal Tiger Reserve (STR) and National Park will remain closed for from June 16 for the rainy season.
"The closure date of STR is fixed, but reopening depends on the prevailing weather condition," field director of STR H K Bist said.
Bist said as the roads inside the National Park get washed away during the monsoon, the authorities prefer to close the park and the tiger reserve mostly till November.
