The top two seeds -- Simran Singh from Mumbai and Nashik's Smit Toshniwal -- had little trouble en route to girls' Under-15 quarterfinals of the West Zone PNB MetLife Junior Badminton Championship here today.
In pre-quarterfinal matches, top seed Simran sidelined citymate Deeksha Hardasani in straight games 11-6 11-8, while second seed Smit also comfortably got past Juhi Rohra of Mumbai 11-5 11-4 at the Goregaon Sports Club.
In boys' under-13 section, third seed Dhruv Oza of Mumbai defeated Shreyas Vijay Kamat of Malval 11-4 11-4 and fourth seeded Mumbai lad Sushant Ravva had to work hard for his 11-7 6-11 11-9 victory over Shantanu Sinha of Mumbai Suburban.
