Singdha Bala Angam, Priyam Kumari, Sarvani Chintalapalli and Srinidhi Sridhar qualified for the main draw of the USD 3,000 FinIQATT Asian Ranking womens tennis championships here Tuesday.
In the final qualifying round played at the Metrocity courts in Kothrud, Singdha outplayed Aalyka Ebrahim, while Priyam subdued Pragati Solankar, both in straight sets.
Sarvani prevailed over Rupkatha Mukherjee in three sets in the toughest match of the day, while Srinidhi breezed her way past Pragathi Narayan in straight sets.
Vaidehi Chaudhari, Yubrani Banerji, Alia Ebrahim and Bela Tamhankar have been handed over wild cards into the main draw of the tournament organised by the Navnath Shete Sports Academy in association with state body MSLTA.
The event is being held under the auspices of the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) and the All India Tennis Association (AITA).
