Joining the Durga Puja bandwagon, celebrated popular singer Lopamudra Mitra and lyricist-composer Joy Sarkar have composed theme music for a famous 'barowari.'

Harping on the Surjodaya theme, which integrates with the new dawn concept of the Adi Lake Palli Durga puja, the 'Benimadhab' singer has made full use of her full-throated rendition, poet-lyricist-composer Joy, a known name in the music fraternity with critically acclaimed films including Rupkatha Noy in his repertoire, said.

"I now become musically associated with a Kolkata puja for the first time. Having been part of this locality for several years, any other tag doesn't matter. Not me but all the residents are 'Faces' of this puja," Lopamudra, the brand ambassador on the 100th year of the award winning puja, said.

"We all had rendered puja songs as the festivities are embedded with the psyche of every Bengalee. But having been part of the theme making process, having been part of the preparations that go into the aesthetic side of a Kolkata puja these days with the soundscape playing an all important role, this is something to foster the 'para' feeling," Lopamudra, the singer of ever-popular 'Maa Durga Durgotinashini', said.

Lyricist Ambarish Majumder said, "We were given the brief to highlight the concept of Arunoday in the presentation which will be played in the background and none but Lopadi could be the ideal choice. As a lyricist Joyda's music helped to build up the soundscape in the settings of a sun temple.
