Union Minister Jitendra Singh has asked the Ramban district administration to formulate development projects on the concept of 'Make in India' to tap the tourism potential of the Chenab.

"Formulate projects on the concept of 'Make in India' to tap the tourism potential of Chenab and to give Ramban district a new identity as an attractive tourist destination," Singh said while charing a meeting with officials to review the development scenario in the district yesterday.

MLA Ramban Neelam Kumar, DDC Ramban Farooq Shah Bukhari and all other district officers besides people from civil society were present on the occasion.

Singh asked the officers to minimise the communication gap between the administration and the civil society so that the energies from both sides can be utilised in making the district clean under 'Swatch Bharat Abhyian'.

He directed the officers that they should expand the spectrum and frequency of meetings with the common masses for redressing their grievances.

The Minister of State in PMO also enquired about developmental needs and issues of public importance.

Responding to the demands for construction of new bridge over river Chenab in place of the age-old cantilever bridge, the Minister directed the deputy commissioner to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) on the pattern of Ravi bridge of Pathankote so that the same can be taken up with the higher authorities.
