The Assam government today extended term of the one-man commission inquiring into the 2012 clashes in the Bodoland Territorial Areas District (BTAD) by one year from today.
The inquiry, headed by Justice (Retd) Mutum B K Singh is inquiring into the clashes between the Minority communities and Bodo communities in the BTAD areas, an official release said.
The clashes in Kokrajhar, Chirang, Dhubri, Bongaigaon and other districts from July 19, 2012 resulted in the killing of 78 people, loss of properties and displacement of more than four lakh people.
