In an effort to put to rest the ongoing speculations over change in the state BJP leadership, party's national secretary Sidharth Nath Singh today hinted that the present state president Rahul Sinha will remain in his post till the 2016 Assembly elections.
"I am addressing the media with the state president sitting next to me. This speaks volumes about what we think of his capability. Hopefully it will put all speculations (about Sinha's removal) to rest," Singh said while addressing a press conference on the concluding day of the two day brainstorming session of the party.
The BJP in West Bengal has started a two-day 'chintan baithak' from yesterday to discuss the strategy for the state Assembly elections in 2016.
Singh's comments came in the backdrop of media reports indicating Sinha's removal before the polls.
Sinha, whose tenure as state president was set to end this year, has been in line of fire for some time now after there were street fights and protests outside the BJP party office over distribution of tickets for the KMC elections and the poor show of the party in the Assembly bypolls.
