Singh suspends 3 officials for felling of trees at Taradevi

Himachal Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today took serious note of illegal felling of 477 trees on a private land in Taradevi temple complex near Shimla, and ordered suspension of three forest department officials for their alleged "grave negligence".

Three forest officials have been suspended and probe was on and if anyone found involved in this matter, whosoever he may be, and would face stringent action, Singh told reporters.

He said, prima facie, involvement of one Parveen Sharma, caretaker of the prospective buyer has come to fore but the real culprit would be known after investigations.

Chief Minister said that no construction or project would be allowed on the land on which tree had been felled and replantation of trees would be done.
 

Meanwhile, Singh expressed hoped that the opposition BJP would participate in the Assembly session and make useful contribution to deliberations on important issues.
