Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha today appreciated the Hyderabad Airport achieving carbon neutral status.

"Hyderabad Airport sets a standard in aviation achieving carbon neutral status in the age of Climate Change," he said on a social networking site.

Hyderabad Airport, operated by GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL), yesterday said it has become the first airport in Asia-Pacific region in the 5-15 million passengers per annum category and second among all categories in the region to achieve carbon neutral status.

Airports Council International (ACI) has certified the international airport with Level 3+ Neutrality under its Airport Carbon Accreditation programme, it said.
